舉：「世尊初生下，一手指天一手指地，周行七步目顧四方云：『天上天下唯我獨尊。』」師云：「我當時若見，一棒打殺與狗子喫却，貴圖天下太平。」

[Yunmen] brought up [the following]: "When the World-Honoured One was first born, pointing one hand to heaven and one hand to earth, he walked seven steps in each direction, surveyed the four quarters, and said, 'Above heaven and below heaven, I alone am the honored one.'" The Master said, "Had I seen him at that moment, I would have struck him dead with a single blow of the stick and fed him to the dogs, seeking peace and tranquility for the world."
