舉：「雲門示眾云：『老胡生下，一手指天一手指地，周行七步，目顧四方，天上天下唯我獨尊，當時若見，一棒打殺與狗喫却，貴圖天下太平。』」師云：「便與掀倒禪床。」

He cited: "Yunmen addressed the assembly, saying: 'When the old barbarian was born, he pointed one hand to heaven and one hand to earth, walked seven paces around, looked in the four directions, and said, "In the heavens and below the heavens, I alone am the honored one." Had I seen him at that time, I would have beaten him to death with a single stick and fed him to the dogs, all for the sake of peace under heaven.'" The Master said, "Then I would have overturned his meditation bed!"
