舉：「仰山問俗官云：『官居何位？』官云：『推官。』山乃竪起拂子云：『還推得這箇麼？』官無語。」師代云：「久嚮和尚。」

[Yunmen] brought up [the following]: "Yangshan asked a lay official, 'What rank does your honor hold?' The official said, 'Judge (tuiguan).' Yangshan thereupon raised his whisk and said, 'Can you still investigate (tui) this?' The official had no words." The Master said on his behalf, "I have long looked up to the upādhyāya."
