舉：「王太尉入佛殿，指鉢盂問僧：『這箇是什麼鉢？』僧云：『藥師鉢。』尉云：『秖聞有降龍鉢。』僧云：『待有龍即降。』尉云：『忽遇拏雲擭浪來，又作麼生？』僧云：『他亦不顧。』尉云：『話墮也。』玄沙云：『盡爾神力走向什麼處去？』保福云：『歸依佛法僧。』百丈作覆鉢勢。」師云：「他日生天莫辜負老僧。」

He cited: "Grand Defender Wang entered the Buddha hall, pointed at an alms bowl, and asked a monk, 'What bowl is this?' The monk said, 'A Bhaiṣajyaguru bowl.' The Grand Defender said, 'I have only heard of a dragon-subduing bowl.' The monk said, 'When there is a dragon, it is subdued.' The Grand Defender said, 'If suddenly one comes seizing clouds and grasping waves, what then?' The monk said, 'He would not pay it any attention either.' The Grand Defender said, 'A verbal downfall!' Xuansha said, 'Exhausting all your spiritual powers, where can you go?' Baofu said, 'Take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Saṅgha.' Baizhang made the gesture of overturning the bowl." The Master said, "In days to come, when you are born in heaven, do not let down this old monk."
