2.20

舉無情說法，忽聞鐘聲，云：「釋迦老子說法也。」驀拈起拄杖問僧：「者箇是什麼？」僧云：「拄杖子。」師云：「驢年夢見。」

He brought up the insentient preaching the Dharma. Suddenly hearing the sound of the bell, he said, "Old Śākya is preaching the Dharma!" He abruptly held up his staff and asked a monk, "What is this?" The monk said, "A staff." The Master said, "You will not even dream of it in the year of the donkey."
