2.40

舉：「祖師偈云：『法法本來法。』」師云：「行住坐臥不是本來法，一切處不是本來法。秖如山河大地與爾日夕著衣喫飯，有什麼過？」又云：「法本法無法。」師拈起拄杖云：「不是本無法。」

He cited: "The Patriarch's verse says: 'Dharmas are fundamentally original dharmas.'" The Master said, "Walking, standing, sitting, and lying down are not original dharmas; everywhere is not original dharmas. Now, what fault is there in the mountains, rivers, and great earth, and in your daily wearing of robes and eating of meals?" He also cited: "'The Dharma fundamentally of dharmas has no Dharma.'" The Master held up his staff and said, "It is not that there is fundamentally no Dharma."
