一日云：「遠即照，近即明，作麼生道？」代云：「入水始見長人。」又云：「更不要也。」

One day he said, "From afar it reflects; up close it illuminates—how do you speak?" Answering on their behalf, he said, "Only upon entering the water does one see the tall man." He also said, "Nothing more is needed."
