2.52

舉：「傅大士云：『禪河隨浪靜，定水逐波清。』」師拈拄杖指燈籠云：「還見麼？若言見，是破凡夫；若言不見，有一雙眼在。爾作麼生會？」良久復拈拄杖云：「盡大地不是浪。」

He brought up: "Great Being Fu said: 'The river of dhyāna calms with the waves; the water of samādhi clarifies following the billows.'" The Master held up his staff, pointed to the lantern, and said, "Do you still see? If you say you see, you are a wrecked ordinary person; if you say you do not see, you have a pair of eyes. How do you understand this?" After a long silence, he again held up his staff and said, "The entire great earth is not a wave."
