師有時拈起拂子云：「者裏得箇入處去揑怪也。日本國裏說禪，三十三天有箇人出來喚云：『吽吽，特庫兒，擔枷過狀。』」
The Master at times held up his whisk and said, "Entering right here and concocting strange wonders! In the country of Japan they speak of Chan; someone from the Trāyastriṃśa Heaven came out, called out, and said: 'Hong hong, teku'er, bearing the cangue and confessing!'"
