2.76

舉：「藥山問僧：『什麼處來？』僧云：『湖南來。』山云：『洞庭湖水滿也未？』僧云：『未滿。』山云：『許多時雨水，為什麼未滿？』雲巖代云：『湛湛地。』洞山代云：『什麼劫中曾欠少？』」師云：「秖在這裏。」

He brought up: "Yaoshan asked a monk: 'Where do you come from?' The monk said: 'I come from Hunan.' Yaoshan said: 'Are the waters of Lake Dongting full or not?' The monk said: 'Not yet full.' Yaoshan said: 'With rainwater for so long, why are they not full?' Yunyan answered on their behalf: 'Profoundly deep.' Dongshan answered on their behalf: 'In what kalpa was it ever lacking?'" The Master said, "It is just right here."
