師因見僧量米，乃問：「籮裏多少達磨？」無對。師云：「儞問我。」僧便問，師云：「斗量不盡。」代云：「因一事，長一智。」又代趯却米籮便行。

When the Master saw a monk measuring rice, he asked, "How many Bodhidharmas are in the basket?" There was no answer. The Master said, "You ask me." The monk then asked. The Master said, "Peck measures cannot measure them all." Answering on their behalf, he said, "Through one affair, one grows in wisdom." On their behalf, he also kicked over the rice basket and walked off.
