師因齋次，拈起蒸餅云：「我這箇秖供養向北人，是儞諸人總不得。」時有僧問：「某甲為什麼不得？」師云：「鈍置殺人。」代云：「某甲猶可。」代前語云：「兩彩一賽。」

During a meal, the Master picked up a steamed bun and said, "I offer this only to people heading north; none of you may have it." At that time a monk asked, "Why may I not have it?" The Master said, "Putting someone in an awkward spot to death!" Answering on their behalf, he said, "For me it is still tolerable." Speaking on behalf of the earlier words, he said, "Two winning rolls in a single cast."
