因入菜園，見糞堆上牌子，問僧：「道什麼？」僧無對。師云：「儞問我。」僧便問，師云：「恐人無信。」

Once, entering the vegetable garden, he saw a sign upon the compost heap. He asked a monk, "What does it say?" The monk made no reply. The Master said, "You ask me." The monk then asked. The Master said, "Fearing that people lack faith."
