師到共相，共相問：「什麼處來？」師云：「雪嶺來。」相云：「要急言句，舉一則來。」師云：「前日典座來，和尚何不問他。」相云：「典座且置。」師云：「箭過新羅。」

The Master arrived at Gongxiang. Gongxiang asked, "Where do you come from?" The Master said, "I come from the Snowy Peak." Xiang said, "Give an urgent utterance; bring one forth!" The Master said, "The chief cook came the day before yesterday; why did the upādhyāya not ask him?" Xiang said, "Let the chief cook be for the moment." The Master said, "The arrow has passed Silla."
