3.19

因普請般米了坐次，云：「近日不唧𠺕，秖擔得一斗米，不如快脫去。」僧云：「和尚脫向甚處去？」師云：「嗄。」僧擬再問，師云：「釘釘了。」代云：「酌然。」代前語云：「今日般米困。」又云：「尚近。」

While sitting after carrying rice during communal labor, he said, "Lately I have been out of sorts; I can carry only one bushel of rice. It would be better to take it off quickly." A monk said, "Where will the upādhyāya take it off to?" The Master said, "Ha!" As the monk was about to ask again, the Master said, "Nailed tight." Answering on his behalf, he said, "Clearly so." Answering on his behalf for the previous remark, he said, "Carrying rice today was exhausting." He also said, "Still close."
