3.20

師問僧：「還有燈籠麼？」僧云：「不可更見也。」師云：「猢猻繫露柱。」代云：「深領和尚佛法深心。」代前語云：「好事不如無。」

The Master asked a monk, "Is there still a lantern?" The monk said, "It cannot be seen again." The Master said, "A monkey tied to an open pillar." Answering on his behalf, he said, "I deeply appreciate the upādhyāya's profound mind for the Buddhadharma." Answering on his behalf for the previous remark, he said, "A good thing is not as good as nothing."
