3.28

因僧辭師，師下座把僧手云：「著幾錢？」無對。師云：「爾問我。」僧便問，師云：「都不直半分錢。」代云：「有什麼信物送路將來？」又云：「臨行。」

When a monk took leave of the Master, the Master stepped down from the seat, grabbed the monk's hand, and said, "How much is this worth?" There was no reply. The Master said, "Ask me." The monk then asked, and the Master said, "It isn't worth even half a copper coin." Answering on his behalf, he said, "What parting token did you bring to send me off on the road?" He also said, "Upon departure."
