3.44

師問僧：「甚處過夏？」僧云：「和尚合知。」師云：「我即知。」僧云：「且道某甲甚處過夏？」師云：「不消一劄。」代云：「更不消也。」

The Master asked a monk, "Where did you spend the summer retreat?"
The monk said, "The Upādhyāya ought to know."
The Master said, "I indeed know."
The monk said, "Then tell me, where did I spend the summer retreat?"
The Master said, "It is not worth a single document."
Answering on their behalf, [the Master] said, "It is even less necessary."
