3.49

問僧：「曾講《百法論》是不？」僧云：「是。」師云：「為什麼脫空妄語？」代云：「事不孤起。」又云：「著。」

He asked a monk, "Did you ever lecture on the Treatise on the Hundred Dharmas?"
The monk said, "I did."
The Master said, "Why utter empty lies?"
Answering on their behalf, [the Master] said, "Things do not arise in isolation."
He also said, "Hit the mark."
