3.57

問僧：「爾是園頭不？」僧云：「是。」師云：「蘿蔔為什麼不生根？」無對。代云：「雨水多。」又云：「不解悅豫使人。」

He asked a monk, "Are you the head gardener?"
The monk said, "I am."
The Master said, "Why do the radishes not grow roots?"
There was no reply.
Answering on their behalf, [the Master] said, "Too much rain."
He also said, "Unable to make people pleased and cheerful."
