3.71

問僧：「甚處來？」僧云：「赴齋來。」師云：「將䞋錢來。」僧云：「和尚欠少箇什麼？」師云：「爾又欠少箇什麼？」僧云：「不欠少。」師云：「不欠少，又赴齋作什麼？」無對。代云：「何妨。」又云：「趁塊。」

[The Master] asked a monk, "Where have you come from?"
The monk said, "I have come from attending a vegetarian feast."
The Master said, "Bring forth your donation money."
The monk said, "What does the Upādhyāya lack?"
The Master said, "And what do you lack?"
The monk said, "I lack nothing."
The Master said, "If you lack nothing, why did you go attend a vegetarian feast?"
There was no reply.
Answering on their behalf, he said, "What harm is there?"
He also said, "Chasing a clod of earth."
