3.82

問僧：「甚處來？」僧云：「南華禮塔來。」師云：「莫脫空。」僧云：「實去來。」師云：「五戒不持。」無對。代云：「彼此不出。」

[The Master] asked a monk, "Where have you come from?"
The monk said, "I have come from paying homage to the stūpa at Nanhua."
The Master said, "Do not tell lies."
The monk said, "I truly went and came [back]."
The Master said, "You do not observe the five precepts."
There was no reply.
Answering on their behalf, he said, "Neither of us goes out."
