3.89

問僧：「一切聲是佛聲，一切色是佛色，拈却了也與我道。」僧云：「拈却了也。」師云：「與麼說驢年會麼？」無對。代云：「君子一言。」代初語云：「狂。」又云：「不存少許佛法身心。」

[The Master] asked a monk, "All sounds are the Buddha's voice; all forms are the Buddha's form. Remove them, and speak for me!"
The monk said, "They are removed."
The Master said, "Speaking like that, when in the year of the donkey will you understand?"
There was no reply.
Answering on their behalf, he said, "A gentleman's single word."
In place of the initial words, he said, "Crazy!"
He also said, "Not preserving the slightest bit of the Buddha-Dharma's body and mind."
