3.93

問僧：「看什麼經？」云：「《顯揚聖教論》。」師云：「適來一問為什麼照不著？」僧云：「什麼處照不著？」師云：「夢見顯揚聖教麼？」代云：「若不如是，爭見當人。」又云：「照不著。」

[The Master] asked a monk, "What scripture are you reading?"
[The monk] said, "The *Prakaraṇāryavācā-śāstra*."
The Master said, "Why did you fail to illuminate just now when asked?"
The monk said, "Where did I fail to illuminate?"
The Master said, "Did you see the *Prakaraṇāryavācā* in a dream?"
Answering on their behalf, he said, "If not so, how could one see the person in question?"
He also said, "Failed to illuminate."
