舉：「芙蓉參歸宗，問：『如何是佛？』歸宗云：『我向汝道，汝還信否？』芙蓉云：『和尚誠言，安敢不信。』歸宗云：『即汝便是。』芙蓉云：『如何保任？』歸宗云：『一翳在眼，空華亂墜。』」師云：「若無後語，何處討歸宗？」

[The Master] cited: "Furong visited Guizong and asked, 'What is the Buddha?' Guizong said, 'If I tell you, will you believe it?' Furong said, 'The Upādhyāya's words are sincere; how would I dare not believe?' Guizong said, 'It is none other than you.' Furong said, 'How should I preserve and maintain it?' Guizong said, 'A single speck in the eye, and flowers in the sky fall in wild profusion.'" The Master said, "If not for these later words, where could Guizong be found?"
