舉：「大慈寰中禪師，因僧辭，乃問：『什麼處去？』僧云：『江西去。』大慈云：『將取老僧去得麼？』僧云：『非但和尚，更有過於和尚，亦不將去。』」師別云：「和尚若去，某甲提笠子。」

[The Master] cited: "When a monk was taking his leave from Chan Master Daci Huanzhong, [Daci] asked, 'Where are you going?' The monk said, 'Going to Jiangxi.' Daci said, 'Can you take this old monk along?' The monk said, 'Not only the Upādhyāya; even one surpassing the Upādhyāya, I would not take along.'" The Master gave an alternative reply: "If the Upādhyāya goes, I will carry your conical hat."
