「丹霞問僧：『什麼處來？』『山下來。』師云：『喫飯了也未？』云：『喫了也。』師云：『將飯與闍梨喫底人，還具眼也無？』」代云：「若不上山，爭識丹霞。」

"Danxia asked a monk, 'Where have you come from?' 'I have come from down the mountain.' The Master said, 'Have you eaten your meal yet?' He said, 'I have eaten.' The Master said, 'Did the person who brought the meal for the ācārya to eat have eyes or not?'" Replacing [the original words], he said, "If one did not go up the mountain, how would one recognize Danxia?"
