「安州法雲與州主行次，主指壁問：『這箇是什麼文字？』云：『心鏡圖。』『既是心鏡圖，為什麼却在壁上？』」代云：「照一問。」

"Fayun of Anzhou was walking along with the prefect, when the prefect pointed to a wall and asked: 'What text is this?' He said: 'The Diagram of the Mind Mirror.' 'Since it is the Diagram of the Mind Mirror, why is it on the wall?'" Replacing [Fayun's words], he said: "It illuminates a question."
