上堂，云：「把定乾坤幾萬般，文殊普賢豈能觀，今日為君重注破，鼈鼻南山子細看。」以拄杖卓一下。

Ascending the hall, he said: “Holding heaven and earth fast in myriad ways, / How could Mañjuśrī and Samantabhadra behold it? / Today I re-annotate and shatter it for you: / Examine closely the turtle-nosed snake of South Mountain.” He planted his staff once.
