上堂云：「三世諸佛遙望頂禮，六代祖師開口不得，四面今日且權為指使。且道是箇什麼？一二三四五，雷門誇布鼓，謾說李將軍，藍田射石虎。」

Ascending the hall, [the Master] said: "The Buddhas of the three periods gaze toward it from afar and make prostrations; the six generations of ancestral masters cannot open their mouths; today Simian provisionally makes use of it. Tell me, what is it? One, two, three, four, five; boasting of a cloth drum at Thunder Gate; idle talk of General Li shooting the stone tiger at Lantian."
