次日上堂云：「一陽生後正嚴寒，皎潔蟾蜍挂碧天，氷鎖瀑泉聲細碎，風搖危木影攣拳。狂猿抱子藏深洞，羸鶴將鶵逐老仙，莫謂可師徒立雪，方知古德用心堅。」

Ascending the hall the next day, he said: / "After the return of the yang, it is severely cold; / The bright, clear moon hangs in the azure sky. / Ice locks the cascading spring, its sound minute; / Wind shakes the perilous tree, its shadow contorted. / Wild apes hold their young, hiding in deep caves; / Lean cranes lead their chicks, following the old immortal. / Do not say Master Ke merely stood in the snow in vain; / Only then do you know the ancient worthy's mind was firm."
