上堂，舉：「德山問龍潭：『久嚮龍潭，及乎到來，潭又不見，龍又不現。』潭云：『子親到龍潭。』」師云：「龍潭老人可謂騎賊馬趕賊。」便下座。

Ascending the hall, he cited: "Deshan asked Longtan, 'I have long looked forward to Longtan (Dragon Pool), but having arrived here, the pool is not seen and the dragon does not appear.' Longtan said, 'You have personally arrived at Longtan.'" The Master said: "Old Man Longtan may well be called riding the thief's horse to chase the thief." Then he stepped down from the seat.
