先師忌晨上堂云：「去年正當恁麼時，多前年三件事，今年正當恁麼時，多去年七件事，這十件事，數不過者甚多。何也？云却七，三存一，事是去年，說是今日。急如箭，黑似漆，無言童子口吧吧，無足仙人擗胸趯。」乃云：「交。」下座。

Ascending the hall on the memorial day of his late master, he said, "Last year just at this time, there were three more matters than the year before; this year just at this time, there are seven more matters than last year. Among these ten matters, those that cannot be counted are very many. Why? Discarding seven, three remain as one; the matter is of last year, the speaking is of today. Swift as an arrow, black as lacquer; the speechless boy's mouth chatters, the footless immortal beats his chest and hops about." He then said, "Handed over!" and stepped down from the seat.
