上堂云：「二月春中漸暖，咍歌頻打拍板，烏鷄走入鵝群，鴨兒凍得觜匾，水上或浮或沈，何時解成瑚璉？子細好好思量，天地去此不遠。」復云：「頻婆娑羅王。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "In the mid-spring of the second month, it is gradually getting warm; derisive songs frequently beat out the rhythm. The black chicken runs into the flock of geese; the duckling's bill is flattened by the cold. Floating or sinking on the water, when will they ever understand how to become sacrificial vessels? Consider it thoroughly and well: heaven and earth are not far from this." He further said: "King Bimbisāra."
