上堂云：「夫為禪客，如出塞將軍，儞將得雲門半片餬餅來，我便與半箇須彌山；若不如是，焉敢稱禪客。」

Ascending the hall, he said: "A Chan wanderer is like a general going out beyond the borders. If you can bring Yunmen's half a piece of sesame flatbread, I will give you half of Mount Sumeru. If you are not like this, how dare you call yourself a Chan wanderer?"
