Ascending the hall, the Master said: “The wind is gentle and the sun is warm; orioles sing in tall trees. Peaches and plums are beautiful, their brilliant brocade forming rows; fragrant grasses are lush, spreading mats to form ranks. Blossoms fall, one petal, two petals, floating like broken jade in a mist; willows dance, three turns, five turns, trailing long silken threads softly. At such a time, an ancient said: ‘Secluded birds chatter like reeds, / Willows hang long golden threads. / Mists clear, the mountain valley is still; / The breeze brings the fragrance of apricot blossoms. / Sitting leisurely through the long day, / With a clear mind, ten thousand worries are forgotten. / Wishing to speak, words cannot reach; / Beneath the forest it is good to deliberate.’
