上堂云：「三十年來尋劍客，有麼有麼？幾迴葉落又抽枝，衲僧眼光失却了也。自從一見桃花後，填溝塞壑。直至如今更不疑，敗軍之將。」以拄杖卓地一下云：「看。」便下座。

Ascending the hall, he said, "'For thirty years I have sought a sword-master'—is there one? Is there one? 'How many times have the leaves fallen and branches sprouted anew?' The patch-robed monk's eyesight is completely lost. 'Ever since I saw the peach blossoms once'—filling ditches and blocking ravines. 'Up to now, I have never doubted again'—a general of a defeated army." Striking the ground once with his staff, he said, "Look!" Then he stepped down from his seat.
