上堂舉：「古人道：『明眼漢沒窠臼。』我且問爾，各從德山臨濟下來，棒喝向爾不能施，語言向爾使不著。我既如此，汝合必然，又作麼生露得箇消息，令雪竇知爾是箇風不入底漢去。」便下座。

Ascending the hall, he cited: "An ancient said, 'A person with clear eyes has no nest or burrow.' Let me ask you: each having come down from Deshan and Linji, sticks and shouts cannot be administered to you, and words cannot be applied to you. Since I am like this, you should certainly be so as well. How then will you reveal some news to let Xuedou know that you are a fellow whom the wind cannot penetrate?" Then he stepped down from his seat.
