一日三僧辭，師把住云：「天無門，地無戶，亂走衲僧，擬往何處？」僧皆無對，師劈面唾云：「枉喫我多少粥飯。」便推出。

One day three monks took their leave. The Master seized hold of them and said, "Heaven has no gate, earth has no door. Wildly running patch-robed monks, where do you intend to go?" None of the monks had an answer. The Master spat in their faces and said, "In vain have you eaten so much of my porridge and rice!" Then he pushed them out.
