3.91

舉：「僧問國師：『如何是本身盧舍那？』云：『與老僧過淨瓶來。』僧將到淨瓶，云：『却安舊處著。』僧復問：『如何是本身盧舍那？』云：『古佛過去久矣。』雲門大師道：『無眹跡。』」師云：「直得一手指天一手指地，爭得無？還會麼？雲在嶺頭閑不徹，水流㵎下太忙生。」

He cited: "A monk asked the National Teacher, 'What is the original body of Rocana?' He said, 'Pass this old monk the water pitcher.' The monk brought the water pitcher. He said, 'Put it back in its former place.' The monk asked again, 'What is the original body of Rocana?' He said, 'The ancient Buddha has long since passed away.' Great Master Yunmen said, 'Without sign or trace.'" The Master said, "Even pointing one finger to heaven and one finger to earth—how could there be nothing? Do you understand? Clouds over the mountain peak are never completely idle; water flowing beneath the ravine is far too busy."
