4.58

或云：「因一事長一智，針筒藥袋不得失却，如履輕氷，道將一句來。」代云：「以己妨人。」又云：「會則事同一家，且放儞過；不會則東西南北，付與驢年。」代云：「一日便頭白。」

Someone said: "'A fall into the pit, a gain in your wit.' The needle case and medicine pouch must not be lost; like treading on thin ice, say a phrase." On [their] behalf he said: "Harming others by oneself." He also said: "If you understand, things belong to one family—for now I let you pass; if you do not understand, then east, west, south, and north are left for the year of the donkey." On [their] behalf he said: "In a single day, the head turns white."
