或云：「祖師不到處，時人知有；時人不知處，過在祖師。作麼生辯？」代云：「不得春風華不開。」

Or he would say: "Where the patriarchs did not reach, people of the world know it exists; where people of the world do not know, the fault lies with the patriarchs. How do you discern this?" Speaking on their behalf, he said: "Without the spring breeze, the flowers do not bloom."
