4.96

因僧朝見，帝賜坐，僧云：「陛下還記得麼？」帝云：「甚處相見來？」僧云：「靈山一別，直至如今。」帝曰：「以何為驗？」僧無對，代云：「貧道得得而來。」

Because a monk had an imperial audience, the emperor bestowed a seat upon him; the monk said, "Does Your Majesty still remember?" The emperor said, "Where did we meet before?" The monk said, "Parting at Gṛdhrakūṭa, right down to the present day." The emperor said, "What can be taken as proof?" The monk had no reply. On his behalf [the Master] said, "This poor monk has come especially."
