18.67

舉：「金牛行食次，問龐居士云：『生心受食，淨名所呵，去此二途，居士還甘否？』士云：『當時善現豈不作家？』牛云：『豈干他事？』士云：『食到口邊，被人奪却。』牛便行食，士云：『不消一句子。』」

Case: While Jinniu was distributing food, he asked Layman Pang, "'Giving rise to thought and receiving food is scolded by Vimalakīrti.' Leaving aside these two approaches, does the Layman still accept it?" The Layman said, "At that time, wasn't Subhūti an adept?" Jinniu said, "What does that have to do with someone else's business?" The Layman said, "The food has reached the mouth, yet it is snatched away by someone." Jinniu then proceeded to distribute food. The Layman said, "Not worth even a single phrase."
