18.69

舉：「師祖問南泉：『摩尼珠，人不識，如來藏裏親收得。如何是藏？』泉云：『王老師與爾往來者是藏。』雪竇云：『草裏漢。』祖云：『直得不往來時如何？』泉云：『亦是藏。』雪竇云：『雪上更加霜。』祖云：『如何是珠？』泉云：『師祖。』祖云：『諾。』雪竇云：『百尺竿頭作伎倆未是嶮，若向箇裏著得一隻眼，賓主互換，便能深入虎穴；或不恁麼，直饒師祖悟去，也是龍頭蛇尾漢。』」

[Yuanwu] brought up: "Shizu asked Nanquan, 'The mani jewel people do not know; in the Tathāgata-garbha it is personally acquired. What is the storehouse?' Nanquan said, 'Old Teacher Wang's coming and going with you is the storehouse.' Xuedou said, 'A fellow in the grass.' Shizu said, 'When it directly comes to there being no coming and going, how is it?' Nanquan said, 'It is also the storehouse.' Xuedou said, 'Adding frost on top of snow.' Shizu said, 'What is the jewel?' Nanquan said, 'Shizu.' Shizu said, 'Yes.' Xuedou said, 'Making tricks on top of a hundred-foot pole is not yet perilous. If you can fix an eye on this and interchange host and guest, then you will be able to penetrate deeply into the tiger's den. Otherwise, even if Shizu had an awakening, he would still be a fellow with a dragon's head and a snake's tail.'"
