19.35

舉：「乾峯示眾云：『法身有三種病二種光，須是一一透得始解穩坐。雖然如是，更須知有照用同時向上一竅始得。』雲門出眾問云：『只如庵內人，為什麼不見庵外事？』峯呵呵大笑，門云：『猶是學人疑處在。』峯云：『子是什麼心行？』門云：『也要和尚相委悉。』峯云：『直須恁麼始解穩坐。』」

[Yuanwu] brought up [the case]: "Qianfeng addressed the assembly, saying, 'The dharmakāya has three kinds of diseases and two kinds of light. One must penetrate through each and every one before one understands how to sit securely. Even though it is like this, one must further know that there is the transcendent aperture where illumination and function occur simultaneously before one will get it.' Yunmen came forth from the assembly and asked, 'What about the person inside the hermitage: why does he not see things outside the hermitage?' Qianfeng laughed loudly: 'Ha, ha!' Yunmen said, 'This is still the student's place of doubt.' Qianfeng said, 'What kind of mindset do you have?' Yunmen said, 'I also want the Venerable Sir to understand thoroughly.' Qianfeng said, 'Only by being just like this does one understand how to sit securely.'"
