一見便見，了本來面，敏手丹青，應緣而現，漸近縱心，愈見強健，唯用金圈栗蓬，要須千煆百煉，撒手萬仞崖，頂門廓正眼。

Seen once, it is seen right away; / completing the original face. / The nimble hand with paints / appears in response to conditions. / Gradually nearing the following of the heart's desire, / he appears ever more robust. / Using only the diamond cage and chestnut burr, / it must undergo a thousand smeltings and a hundred refinings. / Releasing the hand over a myriad-fathom cliff, / atop the crown opens wide the true eye.
