月旦上堂云：「本來無形段，那復有唇觜，特地廣稱揚，替他諸道理。且道：他是誰？參！」

Ascending the hall on the first of the month, the Master said: "Originally without form or shape, how could there be lips and beak? Intentionally praising it broadly, taking the place of others' various principles. Tell me, who is that other? Examine!"
