舉：「杲首座立僧上堂云：『鶻兒未出窠，已有摩霄志，虎子未絕乳，已有食牛氣，況復羽翼成，況復爪牙備，奮迅即驚群，八面清風起，一條脊梁硬以鐵，一條白棒掀天地，相與建法幢，展衲僧巴鼻。』」

He cited: "When Head Monk Gao took his place as monk, he ascended the hall and said: 'Before the falcon has left the nest, it already has the ambition to graze the heavens. Before the tiger cub has stopped nursing, it already has the spirit to devour an ox. How much more so when its wings have formed! How much more so when its claws and teeth are fully prepared! Rousing itself, it startles the pack, and fresh breezes arise on all eight sides. A spine as hard as iron, a white staff that overturns heaven and earth—together we establish the Dharma banner and reveal the patch-robed monk's nostrils.'"
