3.24

上堂：「法無定相，建立由人。」驀拈拄杖卓一下云：「是法非思量分別之所能解。且道：不分別不思量時是箇甚麼？分別思量時又是箇甚麼？」復卓一下喝一喝。

Ascending the hall: "Dharmas have no fixed characteristics; their establishment depends on people." Suddenly taking up the staff, he struck once and said: "'This dharma cannot be understood by thought or discrimination.' And tell me: when not discriminating and not thinking, what is it? When discriminating and thinking, what is it again?" Striking once again, he gave a shout.
